Media Release – 2015 City2City funds spent on local cardiac equipment

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) has purchased new cardiac monitoring equipment with funds raised from the 2015 Hume Bank City2City RunWalk.

The cross border health service will soon benefit from $100,000 worth of cardiac rehabilitation and interventional procedural equipment, which will enable a common platform across the two hospital sites.

“The new equipment supports our vision of “Health without Borders” as it provides us with the capability to transfer patients between sites with faster, efficient synchronising equipment to ensure our patients are getting the right care, in the right place at the right time”, said Susan O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer, Albury Wodonga Health

“Again, we thank all those that took part in the event as this has been instrumental in allowing us to purchase much needed equipment. We hope the 2016 event is just as successful.”

Registrations for the 2016 run/walk are now open and the AWH beneficiary of the event has been announced.

Hume Bank CEO, David Marshall, said 100% of proceeds will be directed to North East Border Mental Health Services.

“With extra community funding this service will provide more support to people across the region facing complex mental health challenges, well into the future“, Mr Marshall said.

“We’re hoping the amazing community spirit of 2015 will again drive the celebration of our cross border health service and see registrations and funds raised increase on last year’s figures.”

The 2016 Hume Bank City2City Run Walk will take place on Sunday 21 February and will again travel from Albury CBD to Wodonga CBD incorporating two course lengths.
