We have a range of volunteer opportunities to suit different interests, skills and group sizes. Explore the volunteer roles below and find the opportunity that’s right for you. Volunteer times will vary (from 5am to 2pm).
Drink Station Volunteers
Help keep participants hydrated and motivated along the course. Duties may include setting up water stations, filling cups, distributing water, restocking supplies, rubbish pickup and cheering on participants as they pass through. All drinks station must to be set up by 6.30am
Course Marshalls
Be the eyes and ears of the event course. Course Marshalls help guide participants along the route, assist with wayfinding, monitor participant safety, and provide encouragement throughout the event.
Lead Bike Rider
Ride at the front of the event to lead participants along the course and help maintain a safe and smooth event experience. This role is ideal for confident cyclists who are comfortable riding ahead of participants and communicating with event staff when required.
Course Bike Rider
Ride sections of the course ahead of participants to identify and report any hazards, obstacles or issues on event day. Course Bike Riders play an important role in helping ensure the course is safe and event-ready. All pre-event course checks must be completed by 6.30am.
Logistics & Course Support
Help prepare the course and support event operations behind the scenes. Responsibilities include driving or riding the course prior to the event to ensure gates, bollards and facilities are unlocked, opened or removed, Volunteers in this role play a critical part in ensuring the course is safe, accessible and ready for participants before the event commences. All pre-event course checks must be completed by 6.30am.
Bib Collection Crew & Participant Support
Help create a positive experience for participants both before and on event day. Volunteers in this role may assist at one or more pre-event bib collection sessions, helping distribute race bibs, answer questions and provide event information. On event day, volunteers may also support participants and spectators by assisting with enquiries, remaining Bib collection, directing people to key locations and helping ensure everyone enjoys a smooth and welcoming event experience.
Start Line Support
Help set the tone for a great event experience. Start Line Support volunteers assist with merchandise sales, participant marshalling, directing runners and walkers into their start zones, answering last-minute questions, rubbish pickup and helping ensure the event starts safely and smoothly.
Finish Line Support
Help create a memorable finish-line experience for participants. Responsibilities may include distributing prizes, merchandise sales, sponsors requests, assisting with crowd flow, rubbish pickup, restocking and celebrating participants’ achievements as they cross the line.
Event Operations
Support the overall delivery of the event through a variety of operational tasks. This may include set-up and pack-down, delivering supplies to course locations, setting up and removing signage, re-stocking, rubbish pickup and supporting event staff throughout the day.

What Happens Next?
Once volunteer registrations close, if successful you will receive confirmation via email. As we get closer to event day, you will be invited to attend a volunteer briefing where we’ll outline your role, responsibilities and event-day logistics
