Congratulations to all who have participated in the City2City since it’s inception in 2015. Together we have raised $1,010,500 for our community and Albury Wodonga Health. On behalf of the City2City, thank you for walking, running and most importantly participating, to help fund a future of remarkable local health services for Border and surrounding communities.
The 2016 Hume Bank City2City RunWalk raised a massive $110,000 for the Albury Wodonga Health Mental Health Services. This helped fund nine preventative mental health programs.
The $110,000 raised in 2017 for Albury Wodonga Health were directed to Albury Wodonga Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery. This helped pay for the refurbishment of the nursery and patient rooms, improving facilities and amenities for both babies and parents.
All $107,000 raised for Albury Wodonga Health in 2018 was used to fund life-saving chronic lung disease equipment. 100 per cent of the event’s registration fees went to support the purchase of an Endo Bronchial Ultra Sound Scope (E-BUS).
All proceeds raised by the 2019 Hume Bank City2City Run Walk funded life-saving ultra-sound equipment for critical care services, including Emergency, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. The upgraded equipment allows for faster diagnosis and treatment of Albury Wodonga Health’s most critically ill patients.
In 2020, $75,000 raised by the City2City stayed local to support the redesign and upgrade of the Nolan House courtyard. The upgraded Courtyard will create a therapeutic garden that is safe, tranquil, multipurpose and family friendly. The proposed upgrade will allow for therapeutic group programs and skills assessments which contribute to a sense of community, skill competence and social enjoyment.
A further $18,500 from the 2020 City2City was donated to the Border Trust Bushfire Recovery Grant.
After a very tough year, the 2021 Hume Bank City2City was dedicated to thanking our front-line health workers and celebrating the strength of our two cities, one community.
Any funds raised by the event contributed to enhancing facilities and amenities for staff across the breadth of Albury Wodonga Health’s service areas. Each staff tea room received a gift voucher and were able to purchase an item that was meaningful for them.
2022 City2City funding is supporting a number of service-specific enhancements across the community services.
Proceeds from the 2023 Hume Bank City2City have funded the purchase of an additional Teledoc machine which will provide the Wodonga ED access to the Victorian Stroke Telemedicine (VST) Program. The VST is a service that allows acute stroke patients to be assessed by a neurologist remotely, with the assistance of an Albury Wodonga Health medical registrar.
Proceeds from the 2024 Hume Bank City2City raised $160,000 for Albury Wodonga Health’s women’s services, bringing the cumulative total to $1,010,500 raised over 10 years.
