Media Release – Volunteers team up for City2City RunWalk

Last minute preparations are continuing for the Hume Bank City2City fundraiser for Albury Wodonga Health.

Around 100 volunteers will gather in Wodonga on Wednesday night (17 February) for an event briefing ahead of the run/walk on Sunday 21 February.

Volunteer Coordinator John Roberts said the volunteer team will be briefed on the logistics of the big day.

“They have a huge task – helping prepare the route, marshalling 4000+ participants, manning the bib collection desks and helping at water stations”, Mr Roberts said.

“This is a huge team effort and without their amazing contribution this event couldn’t happen.

Mr Roberts added, “Many of our volunteers have been organised through the Rotary Clubs of Albury North and Wodonga Central.”

“It’s extraordinary that so many people have volunteered their time and are so passionate about their local health service.

“Many of our volunteers are back for the second year in row and we want to thank everyone who’ll be putting in a massive effort this week and on the day.”

All proceeds from the 2016 event will be directed to the North East Border Mental Health Service.

Registrations at www.city2city.org.au will close at 5pm on Saturday 20 February.
